Christmas Day at Jackson’s Lane

WHAT THEY DO?

The doors on Christmas Day at Jackson’s Lane Art Centre have been open for 50 years, bringing joy to older adults who might otherwise spend the day in solitude. This program is the oldest and dearest; it harkens back to Jackson’s Lane’s earliest days as a church.

The day is supported by a team of over 100 dedicated volunteers. For many of them, helping out here has become as much of a tradition in their families as stockings, carols and cold turkey sandwiches on Boxing Day. Because of social distancing measures in 2021, they were unable to have people in the building so they created festive hampers that they continue to deliver to vulnerable people in need in North London that can’t attend the event in person.

HOW DO WE HELP?

The Cyril and Eve Jumbo Charitable Trust has been donating to the Christmas Day celebrations every year since 2016.
